For 2022 the Indian Chieftain Dark Horse added Quartz Gray and Blue Slate Metallic to its blacked-out palette, alongside carryover Black Smoke and Ruby Smoke. Nothing changed in the fairing, though: the 7-inch Ride Command touchscreen still ships with wired-only Apple CarPlay and no Android Auto. HogPlay's USB-C bypass fixes both — wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, running on the factory screen.
USB-C Bypass Required
The factory 7" Ride Command runs Apple CarPlay by USB cable only — no wireless, and no Android Auto. A HogPlay USB-C bypass makes CarPlay wireless, then a Media Box or Piglet adds Android Auto and streaming apps.

Trim aside, the 2022 Chieftain Dark Horse is the same hard-bagger as every Chieftain — Thunder Stroke 116 V-twin, frame-mounted fairing, hard saddlebags — dressed in Black Smoke, Quartz Gray, Ruby Smoke, Blue Slate Metallic, Dirt Track Smoke, or the graphics-equipped Stealth Gray Azure. The Ride Command screen and its factory USB port sit in that fairing regardless of color. HogPlay's bypass plugs into the port to unlock wireless Apple CarPlay, then a Media Box or Piglet adds Android Auto and streaming apps. Full fitment is on the Indian Ride Command radio page.
