How do I know if HogPlay fits my motorcycle?
Use our fitment finders. Look your bike up by year, make and model, or if you already know your head unit, start from your radio — either way we show the exact HogPlay parts that fit. HogPlay covers Harley-Davidson, Indian, Honda Gold Wing, Polaris Slingshot and more, plus universal screens for almost anything.
Does my Harley have Apple CarPlay or Android Auto from the factory?
It depends on the radio. The 2019+ Boom! Box GTS and 2023.5+ Skyline have factory Apple CarPlay (locked behind a paired headset) — but no Harley factory screen has Android Auto. Radios from 1999–2018 have neither CarPlay nor Android Auto. Find yours on the Harley-Davidson radios page.
Does HogPlay add Android Auto?
Yes. On a factory Apple CarPlay radio, a HogPlay bypass unlocks CarPlay and the USB port, then a Media Box or USB Piglet adds Android Auto. Aftermarket CarPlay radios usually include Android Auto already. Android riders are fully covered.
What is the difference between a HogPlay Media Box and a USB Piglet?
A Media Box adds Android Auto plus streaming — Netflix, YouTube, YouTube Music and podcasts — and plays from an SD card or USB drive so you are not burning phone data. A USB Piglet adds Android Auto plus phone-screen mirroring (Mirror Link / AirPlay). Both plug into the head unit’s USB.
Do I need a bypass?
Only for a factory CarPlay radio (Harley GTS or Skyline, Indian Ride Command). The factory locks CarPlay behind a paired headset and restricts the USB port; a HogPlay bypass removes that so CarPlay and USB work with no headset. Aftermarket radios need no bypass. Check what your radio needs on the radio finder.
Does a bypass alone give me Android Auto?
Can I watch Netflix and YouTube on my motorcycle?
Yes. A HogPlay Media Box adds Netflix, YouTube, YouTube Music and podcasts to your screen. It even plays movies and music straight from an SD card or USB drive, so you can enjoy your own library with zero phone data. Video is for parked viewing only — never watch video while the motorcycle is in motion. Music, navigation and audio are perfect for the road; save the screen’s video for stops.
Do I need a data plan or Wi-Fi to stream?
No. A HogPlay Media Box plays video and music from an SD card or USB drive with no data at all. Use your phone’s hotspot when you want live apps — but your saved library streams data-free. Video is for parked viewing only — never watch video while the motorcycle is in motion.
My Harley is a 1999–2013 model with an old radio. Can I still get CarPlay?
Absolutely. Those factory radios never offered CarPlay, but you can bring the bike fully up to date: fit an aftermarket CarPlay radio (most include Android Auto), or add a bar-mounted HogPlay Media Screen — then a Media Box or Piglet for streaming and apps. My 2014–2018 Harley has a Boom! Box. Does it have CarPlay?
No. The 2014–2018 Boom! Box 4.3 and 6.5 GT have no factory Apple CarPlay or Android Auto (those arrived with the 2019 GTS). Your options: swap to a 2019–2023 GTS and add a HogPlay bypass, or fit an aftermarket CarPlay radio — then a Media Box or Piglet for Android Auto and streaming.
I have an Android device. Will HogPlay work?
Yes. HogPlay supports both Android and iPhone. Our Media Boxes and USB Piglets turn a CarPlay system into full Android Auto, so Android riders get the complete wireless experience.
What is a HogPlay Media Screen, and when do I need one?
A HogPlay Media Screen is a self-contained Apple CarPlay / Android Auto display that bolts to your handlebars — power and ground only. It is ideal for bikes with no factory screen or radio (baggers, cruisers, Sportsters, Softails) and works regardless of what radio you have.
Will HogPlay work on my Indian, Honda or Slingshot?
Yes. HogPlay fits Indian Ride Command, Honda Gold Wing, Polaris Slingshot and more, plus universal screens for almost anything with a wired CarPlay connection. Confirm your exact model on the fitment finder.
How do I find the right parts for my specific radio?
Start from your head unit on the radio finder — pick factory or aftermarket, choose your radio, and we list the exact HogPlay bypass, Media Box, Piglet and screen options that fit it. Prefer to search by bike? Use the year / make / model finder.
Is HogPlay difficult to install?
No. Every HogPlay part — bypass, USB adaptors, Media Box and Screens — is plug-and-play into an existing connector. No cutting, no splicing, no flashing. Most riders finish in minutes; you do not need to be a mechanic or an IT tech.
Will HogPlay change or harm my factory radio or software?
No. HogPlay is self-contained and fully reversible — nothing is flashed or reprogrammed on your motorcycle. Unplug it and the bike is 100% stock. No dealer programming required, ever.
Can I use my HogPlay on more than my motorcycle?
Yes. HogPlay works with most factory and aftermarket systems that have a wired CarPlay connection, so it moves easily to your car, truck, RV or a second bike. Everyone should have more than one HOG.
Is HogPlay compatible with my motorcycle?
HogPlay is built for motorcycles and tested across a huge range of models — Harley-Davidson, Indian, Honda, Slingshot and more. Look your exact bike up on the fitment finder, or contact support for anything unusual — we are constantly validating new models.
Why do I have to use HogPlay-approved cables and adaptors?
Every HogPlay unit is tested with the specific cable and the adaptors it ships with. Non-approved USB cables or adaptors are the number-one avoidable cause of trouble — they create unstable connections and can make the unit fail. Whether you run a factory or aftermarket radio, always use the HogPlay-approved cable and included adaptors. It is the most common issue and it is completely preventable.
Do I need a bypass on an aftermarket radio, and how does HogPlay expand it?
No — a bypass only unlocks a factory CarPlay radio. An aftermarket CarPlay radio needs no bypass, but a HogPlay Media Box or USB Piglet still expands it with Android Auto, streaming and phone-screen mirroring. The most common aftermarket failure is using non-approved cables or adaptors, which cause unstable connections — always use the HogPlay-approved parts.
My HogPlay will not connect to my phone. What should I check?
Enable both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your phone, and make sure your Wi-Fi is not tied up by another device. If connecting is slow, manually pick the HogPlay hotspot from your phone’s Wi-Fi list. For wireless Android Auto, your factory radio must support wired Android Auto. And check your cable — a non-approved cable is the most common connection problem.
The screen is black on startup, or the picture and audio are choppy. How do I fix it?
Black screen: make sure your bike has factory wired CarPlay or Android Auto and that it is enabled. Choppy video or audio: unplug the HogPlay, delete the “HogPlay” device from your phone’s Bluetooth settings, turn the bike fully off and let it power down, then restart the pairing. Re-seat the connection with a HogPlay-approved cable. If it persists, contact support.
