Because a BOSS unit replaces the factory radio, a bypass adaptor doesn't apply — there's no factory head unit left to unlock. About BOSS
BOSS Audio Systems was founded by car enthusiast Sam Rabbani over 30 years ago, with a stated mission to develop world-class mobile audio systems for every budget. The company built its name on high-volume car audio sold through mass retail, and has since spread across the powersports world — the brand describes its reach as running "from the street to the trail to the water".
BOSS Elite is the company's premium line. Its own positioning leans on a promise of restraint rather than noise: the brand's "Rethink Elite" messaging answers what separates BOSS Elite from the core BOSS Audio range by committing to "honest features, true specs, and real value". That is a useful thing for a rider to know, because head unit spec sheets in this category are not always written that carefully.
Motorcycle audio sits under BOSS Elite's Signature Series, billed as "Signature Series Motorcycle Audio for the Open Road". The bike-specific work here is the Elite BE920WCPA.HD, a factory-fit replacement head unit for 2014-2023 Harley-Davidson Street Glide, Road Glide and Electra Glide models. iDatalink Maestro is built into the unit rather than supplied as a separate module, and it is IP66 rated dustproof and weatherproof for a machine that lives outdoors. Both wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are on board out of the box.
