About SoundStream
Soundstream has been building amplifiers, subwoofers, speakers and multimedia head units since 1976. The company describes itself as a leader in mobile audio engineering and performance over that span, and says its work has earned over 90 industry awards. Its catalogue still covers the ground it came up on — multi-channel amplifiers, component speakers, signal processors and marine audio — alongside the newer video and multimedia side of the business.
Soundstream describes Reserve as a premium line of vehicle audio products originally created for select authorized dealers, and the Harley-Davidson touring head units sit in it. The idea running through them is the same: a head unit that drops into the factory location on a specific bike rather than a universal chassis you have to fabricate around. Reserve units use OEM mounting hardware, the bike's original AM/FM antenna and OEM USB where it exists, so there are no brackets, trim rings or antenna adapters to source separately. Factory handlebar controls are retained.
What these units are known for is the amount of amplification and tuning built into the head unit itself. Most of the range carries a 200-watt four-channel amplifier that is 2-ohm stable, multi-band digital equalisation with crossovers, and 5-volt RCA outputs if you later want to run external amps. Faceplates are rated IPx5. Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto are standard across the motorcycle line.
