For 2022 the base Chieftain settled on just two finishes: a straightforward Black Metallic and the more distinctive Heavy Metal Smoke with Polished Bronze Accents, a two-tone treatment that dresses up the frame-mounted fairing without changing what's under it. That fairing still houses the 7-inch Ride Command touchscreen, and factory Apple CarPlay is present but wired-only — Android Auto isn't part of the package. A HogPlay USB-C bypass adaptor sets CarPlay free from the cable, and a Media Box or Piglet adds Android Auto and streaming through the same factory USB connection, with nothing to cut and nothing that can't be undone.

The factory 7" Ride Command runs Apple CarPlay by USB cable only — no wireless, and no Android Auto. A HogPlay USB-C bypass makes CarPlay wireless, then a Media Box or Piglet adds Android Auto and streaming apps.
