By 2023 the base Chieftain had been trimmed down to a single color, Black Metallic — the simplest lineup of any year in this range — while the bike itself stayed the same frame-mounted-fairing bagger with the 7-inch Ride Command touchscreen and the air-cooled Thunder Stroke 111. Factory Apple CarPlay works on that screen out of the box, but only over a plugged-in cable, with Android Auto still absent. A HogPlay USB-C bypass adaptor makes CarPlay wireless, and a Media Box or Piglet brings Android Auto and streaming apps in alongside it — through the factory USB connection, no cutting, no dealer visit.

The factory 7" Ride Command runs Apple CarPlay by USB cable only — no wireless, and no Android Auto. A HogPlay USB-C bypass makes CarPlay wireless, then a Media Box or Piglet adds Android Auto and streaming apps.
