The 2003 Road Glide carries Harley's 100th anniversary into a bike built specifically for the highway, with a frame-mounted fairing wrapped around a basic AM/FM radio. That radio was never built to connect with a phone, so Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both absent from the factory dash. HogPlay's guide walks 2003 Road Glide riders through the aftermarket fairing radios that add wireless CarPlay and Android Auto.

No Factory CarPlay — Add It Your Way

The 2003 Harley-Davidson Road Glide shipped with the factory factory touring radio (1999–2005) — a solid unit in its day, but no Apple CarPlay, Android Auto or touchscreen. Fit an aftermarket CarPlay radio (SoundStream, Rockford Fosgate, Boss, Diamond Audio or Aquatic AV) for on-board CarPlay and Android Auto, then a HogPlay Media Box unleashes Netflix, YouTube and streaming apps and a Piglet adds Mirror Link and AirPlay. No headset bypass needed — that's a factory-radio thing, not aftermarket. Rather not swap the radio? A bar-mounted HogPlay Media Screen adds wireless CarPlay too.

We also stock universal parts that fit the 2003 Harley-Davidson Road Glide and most other motorcycles — standalone CarPlay screens and universal USB power.

About the 2003 Harley-Davidson Road Glide

The 2003 Road Glide's fairing remains the defining feature of the bike: fixed to the frame, styled around dual headlamps, and shaped to cut wind at speed better than a fork-mounted fairing can. Behind that fairing sits a factory AM/FM radio built for AM/FM and nothing further.

Riders upgrading a bike this age almost always want the same things a modern car offers: CarPlay navigation, streamed music, and hands-free texting. None of it is possible through the stock 2003 radio without a swap.

Diamond Audio and Aquatic AV both make CarPlay-ready radios sized for the Road Glide fairing, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto included out of the box. From there, a HogPlay Media Box adds Android Auto plus Netflix, YouTube, YouTube Music, and podcast playback from an SD card or USB drive, a HogPlay USB Piglet adds Android Auto with Mirror Link or AirPlay mirroring, and a bar-mounted HogPlay Media Screen works for riders leaving the factory radio alone.

HogPlay Media Boxes work on Diamond Audio, Boss Audio, Rockford Fosgate, SoundStream and Aquatic AV aftermarket radios to unlock apps, streaming and more — it's not just for factory screens. Running an aftermarket head unit? See the matching aftermarket radio pages.
