1999 adds Street Glide to the touring family, joining Road Glide, Electra Glide, and Ultra — all still running Harley's factory AM/FM deck. CVO now spans three models including a CVO Street Glide, while Road King and every Softail still ship without a stereo of any kind.

About 1999 Harley-Davidson

1999's touring lineup is the fullest it's been yet: Electra Glide, Ultra Classic, Road Glide, and the brand-new Street Glide all carried the same factory AM/FM cassette unit behind their fairings, and CVO mirrored that lineup across Electra Glide, Road Glide, and Street Glide trims. Road King still rolled out with no factory stereo, and the Softail & Cruiser side of the family — 883s, 1200 Customs, Fat Boy, Wide Glide — had no audio system or wiring at all.

Fully-faired 1999 models, new Street Glide included, take an aftermarket CarPlay radio directly into that factory dash pocket for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Everything without a factory radio, Road King and the whole Softail lineup among them, gets a bar-mounted HogPlay Media Screen.
