About 1999 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Models
1999 was the last model year before Harley began experimenting with fuel injection across the touring line, but audio stayed exactly where it had been for years: an AM/FM cassette head unit shared across Electra Glide, Electra Glide Classic, Classic Shrine, Standard, and the FLHT/FLHTCI sidecar rigs. No trim level in this family got anything closer to modern connectivity that year.
The fix is identical across the whole 1999 Electra Glide range: an aftermarket CarPlay radio replaces the factory cassette deck in its existing opening, bringing wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to the base Electra Glide or the Classic without touching the fairing itself. Full fitment details live on the aftermarket radios page, listed by trim, year, and sidecar configuration.
