About 1999 Harley-Davidson Street Glide Models
The first-ever Street Glide arrived in 1999 with styling all its own, but its audio system was pulled straight from the rest of Harley's touring lineup: the same AM/FM cassette head unit found in Electra Glide, Ultra, and Road Glide that year, with no CD player, no aux input, and nothing resembling wireless connectivity anywhere on the dash or in the fairing pocket.
Because Street Glide uses the same fairing-mounted dash opening as its touring siblings, an aftermarket CarPlay radio installs the same way, adding wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to this debut model. Compare it with the Road Glide and CVO families, which fit the identical part, connector, and mounting bracket without any modification to the fairing or dash at all.
