1999 Road Glide CarPlay Fitment

In its second model year, Road Glide kept the same frame-mounted fairing design it launched with in 1998 — and the same basic factory AM/FM cassette deck, unchanged for 1999, sitting behind the same dash opening it always has, with the same speakers wired the same way.

About 1999 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Models

Road Glide's sophomore year brought no changes to the audio system: the 1999 model runs the identical AM/FM cassette head unit as the 1998 original, mounted in the same frame-fixed fairing that set Road Glide apart from Electra Glide and Ultra when it first launched a year earlier, badges and paint aside, along with the same speakers and wiring harness.

The fix is the same one used across Harley's other faired tourers that year — an aftermarket CarPlay radio drops into the existing fairing opening for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. See the new Street Glide and CVO families, which share the exact identical aftermarket radio part, connector, mounting bracket, and speaker wiring already sitting inside the fairing pocket.
