2017 brought the Milwaukee-Eight engine to the Electra Glide Police, a real leap in power and smoothness, but the electronics stayed familiar: the base Boom! Box 4.3, non-touch and without Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. HogPlay lets you keep the new engine and still add wireless CarPlay and Android Auto to the cockpit.
No Factory CarPlay — GTS Swap or Aftermarket
The 2017 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Police ran the factory Boom! Box 4.3 — no factory CarPlay or Android Auto. Two ways to add it: swap to a 2019–2023 Boom! Box GTS and add a HogPlay GTS Bypass for wireless CarPlay, or fit an aftermarket CarPlay radio (SoundStream, Rockford Fosgate, Boss, Diamond Audio, Aquatic AV). Either way a HogPlay Media Box adds Netflix, YouTube and streaming and a Piglet adds Mirror Link and AirPlay. No headset bypass required.

The 2017 Electra Glide Police is the first year of the Milwaukee-Eight in Harley's touring line, a meaningful upgrade for a duty bike that spends its life idling and cruising. The dash didn't get the same jump, though - the Boom! Box 4.3 is the same non-touch stereo from prior years.
To add CarPlay, most riders choose an aftermarket radio from SoundStream, Rockford Fosgate, Boss, Diamond Audio, or Aquatic AV, the majority of which include both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto out of the box, sometimes paired with a bar-mounted HogPlay Media Screen. The other route is swapping toward a 2019-2023 GTS radio and running a HogPlay CarPlay bypass adaptor to unlock that unit's factory CarPlay and USB port.
A HogPlay Media Box then adds Android Auto plus Netflix, YouTube, YouTube Music, and podcasts from an SD card or USB drive with no phone data used, and a HogPlay USB Piglet adds Android Auto with AirPlay or Mirror Link mirroring instead. No headset bypass is needed on the aftermarket-radio path.
