Harley-Davidson Boom! Box 4.3
The Boom! Box 4.3 was Harley-Davidson's base touring infotainment on 2014–2018 base trims — a 4.3-inch non-touch display run by hard keys, with AM/FM, Bluetooth and a USB-A port. A good unit for its day, but it has no touchscreen and no Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, and the HogPlay GTS Bypass does not fit it stock.
Two ways to add wireless CarPlay and Android Auto: (1) swap the 4.3 for a 2019–2023 Boom! Box GTS and add a HogPlay GTS Bypass; or (2) fit an aftermarket CarPlay radio — SoundStream, Rockford Fosgate, Boss, Diamond Audio or Aquatic AV. Either way a HogPlay Media Box adds Netflix, YouTube and streaming, and a HogPlay Piglet adds Mirror Link and AirPlay.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Boom! Box 4.3 have Apple CarPlay or Android Auto?
No. The 2014–2018 Boom! Box 4.3 (factory part 76000075) is a non-touch base unit with AM/FM, Bluetooth and USB — but no Apple CarPlay and no Android Auto, and the HogPlay GTS Bypass does not fit it stock.
What are my Apple CarPlay and Android Auto options for the Boom! Box 4.3?
Two paths: (1) swap to a 2019–2023 Boom! Box GTS and add a HogPlay GTS Bypass to unlock its factory CarPlay + USB, then a Piglet or Media Box for Android Auto; or (2) fit an aftermarket CarPlay radio (SoundStream, Rockford Fosgate, Boss, Diamond Audio or Aquatic AV) — most include CarPlay and Android Auto built in.
Do I need a bypass for the Boom! Box 4.3?
Not for the 4.3 itself — it has no factory CarPlay to unlock. A HogPlay GTS Bypass only applies AFTER you swap to a 2019–2023 GTS. On the aftermarket path, no bypass is needed.
How do I add Android Auto, Netflix and YouTube to the 4.3?
Will a Piglet or Media Box work on my stock 4.3?
No — the bare 4.3 has no CarPlay USB path for them. They work after a GTS swap (with bypass) or an aftermarket CarPlay radio.
