The 2016 Ultra Limited Low carries the same lowered touring formula into its second year, wrapping a fairing, hard bags and a relaxed reach around riders who want less bike to manage at a stop. The factory Boom! Box 6.5 GT still handled music and calls capably for 2016, but Apple CarPlay and Android Auto weren't part of the package. HogPlay bridges that gap with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, either through an aftermarket head unit or a 2019-2023 GTS swap with a bypass adaptor.
No Factory CarPlay — GTS Swap or Aftermarket
The 2016 Harley-Davidson Ultra Limited Low ran the factory Boom! Box 6.5 GT — no factory CarPlay or Android Auto. Two ways to add it: swap to a 2019–2023 Boom! Box GTS and add a HogPlay GTS Bypass for wireless CarPlay, or fit an aftermarket CarPlay radio (SoundStream, Rockford Fosgate, Boss, Diamond Audio, Aquatic AV). Either way a HogPlay Media Box adds Netflix, YouTube and streaming and a Piglet adds Mirror Link and AirPlay. No headset bypass required.

The 2016 Ultra Limited Low keeps Harley's lowered-touring layout — shorter reach, reduced seat height, same fairing and hard-bag setup — with the Boom! Box 6.5 GT touchscreen running the stereo and navigation. It's a solid factory system for the era, but it never came with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, so phone-based navigation, music and calls all need a workaround.
Most riders solve it with a new aftermarket touring radio; units from brands like Rockford Fosgate and SoundStream typically include wireless CarPlay and Android Auto right out of the box, and there's no headset bypass to fuss with on this path. If you'd rather keep the stock-radio look, swapping in a 2019-2023 GTS head unit and adding a HogPlay CarPlay bypass adaptor unlocks the GTS's own factory CarPlay and USB port.
From there, a HogPlay Media Box adds Android Auto along with Netflix, YouTube, YouTube Music and podcast streaming straight from an SD card or USB drive — no data plan needed. A HogPlay USB Piglet is the pick if you want Android Auto paired with Mirror Link or AirPlay mirroring instead, and while a bar-mounted HogPlay Media Screen is available, most riders on a bike that already has a head unit choose to upgrade the radio itself.
HogPlay Media Boxes work on Diamond Audio, Boss Audio, Rockford Fosgate, SoundStream and Aquatic AV aftermarket radios to unlock apps, streaming and more — it's not just for factory screens. Running an aftermarket head unit? See the matching aftermarket radio pages.
