2016 Harley-Davidson Touring Boom! Box CarPlay Guide

Like the years before it, the 2016 Harley-Davidson touring fleet ran Boom! Box 4.3 or 6.5GT from the factory — good sound, but no built-in Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Find your bike on the 2016 Harley-Davidson page to see which upgrade path fits.

About 2016 Motorcycles

2016 was the last model year before Harley-Davidson's Milwaukee-Eight engine arrived, and the touring infotainment stayed put too: Boom! Box 4.3 on base bikes, Boom! Box 6.5GT on premium trims, with Boom! Box GTS still three years away. If you want a factory-style GTS screen on a 2016 bike, that means retrofitting a 2019-2023 GTS unit and adding a HogPlay GTS Bypass to get wireless CarPlay and Android Auto working.

The simpler route is an aftermarket touchscreen — see the options on our aftermarket radios page, most of which bring wireless CarPlay and Android Auto right out of the box. Round out either setup with a Media Box for streaming apps and a USB Piglet for a wired Mirror Link connection, then shop your model on 2016 Harley-Davidson.
