The 2016 CVO Road Glide Ultra closed out this generation with Harley's most polished CVO touring package yet, its Boom! Box 6.5 GT touchscreen still the go-to for maps and music on the road. Capable as it was for 2016, it never ran Apple CarPlay or Android Auto — those systems arrived on later Harley radios, not this one. HogPlay retrofits both, wirelessly, so this bike can catch up.
No Factory CarPlay — GTS Swap or Aftermarket
The 2016 Harley-Davidson CVO Road Glide Ultra ran the factory Boom! Box 6.5 GT — no factory CarPlay or Android Auto. Two ways to add it: swap to a 2019–2023 Boom! Box GTS and add a HogPlay GTS Bypass for wireless CarPlay, or fit an aftermarket CarPlay radio (SoundStream, Rockford Fosgate, Boss, Diamond Audio, Aquatic AV). Either way a HogPlay Media Box adds Netflix, YouTube and streaming and a Piglet adds Mirror Link and AirPlay. No headset bypass required.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto weren't part of that package — they simply postdate this radio's design, touchscreen or not.
An aftermarket CarPlay radio built for the touring fairing is the quickest fix, with options from SoundStream, Rockford Fosgate, Boss, Diamond Audio, and Aquatic AV that typically include CarPlay and Android Auto together. Prefer sticking closer to a Harley-native look? Swap in a 2019-2023 GTS head unit and add a HogPlay CarPlay bypass adaptor, which unlocks the GTS's built-in CarPlay and USB port.
Once the new radio's in, a Media Box adds Android Auto along with Netflix, YouTube, YouTube Music, and podcasts, running off an SD card or USB drive rather than your phone's data. If mirroring is more your speed, a USB Piglet adds Android Auto plus Mirror Link and AirPlay, and a bar-mounted Media Screen is there for riders who want a standalone display. No headset bypass is required on this aftermarket-radio path.
