2016 closed out the Twin Cam era for the CVO Road Glide, still wearing its shark-nose fairing and the Boom! Box 6.5 GT touchscreen. Good as that radio was for its time, it has no Apple CarPlay or Android Auto on board. HogPlay adds both wirelessly, whether through an aftermarket CarPlay radio or a GTS swap plus bypass.
No Factory CarPlay — GTS Swap or Aftermarket
The 2016 Harley-Davidson CVO Road Glide ran the factory Boom! Box 6.5 GT — no factory CarPlay or Android Auto. Two ways to add it: swap to a 2019–2023 Boom! Box GTS and add a HogPlay GTS Bypass for wireless CarPlay, or fit an aftermarket CarPlay radio (SoundStream, Rockford Fosgate, Boss, Diamond Audio, Aquatic AV). Either way a HogPlay Media Box adds Netflix, YouTube and streaming and a Piglet adds Mirror Link and AirPlay. No headset bypass required.
We also stock universal parts that fit the 2016 Harley-Davidson CVO Road Glide and most other motorcycles — standalone CarPlay screens and universal USB power.

2016 was the last model year before Harley's touring line moved to the Milwaukee-Eight engine, and the CVO Road Glide that year still paired shark-nose styling with the Boom! Box 6.5 GT touchscreen. That radio handled Bluetooth calling and audio well for its time, but Apple CarPlay and Android Auto didn't exist on any Harley factory unit yet, this one included.
Owners typically go one of two ways to get wireless CarPlay. The simplest is an aftermarket CarPlay radio — SoundStream and Rockford Fosgate both make units that drop into the Road Glide dash and usually bundle Android Auto in as well. The alternative is swapping to a 2019-2023 GTS radio and adding a HogPlay CarPlay bypass adaptor, which unlocks the GTS's factory CarPlay and USB port without touching Android Auto.
Whichever radio ends up on the bike, a HogPlay Media Box adds Android Auto along with Netflix, YouTube, YouTube Music, and podcast streaming from an SD card or USB drive, no phone data needed. A USB Piglet covers Android Auto plus Mirror Link or AirPlay mirroring, and a bar-mounted Media Screen is an option if the factory unit is staying put. The aftermarket path never requires a headset bypass — save that question for the factory-radio pages.
HogPlay Media Boxes work on Diamond Audio, Boss Audio, Rockford Fosgate, SoundStream and Aquatic AV aftermarket radios to unlock apps, streaming and more — it's not just for factory screens. Running an aftermarket head unit? See the matching aftermarket radio pages.
