The 2014 Road Glide Police pairs a shark-nose fairing with Harley's police-spec touring chassis, built for long shifts and highway miles. Its Boom! Box 4.3 was a capable base radio for the era, but it has no Apple CarPlay and no Android Auto - riders get basic audio and no real navigation help. HogPlay adds wireless CarPlay and Android Auto to this bike so a phone's maps, calls and music show up right on the bars.

No Factory CarPlay — GTS Swap or Aftermarket

The 2014 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Police ran the factory Boom! Box 4.3 — no factory CarPlay or Android Auto. Two ways to add it: swap to a 2019–2023 Boom! Box GTS and add a HogPlay GTS Bypass for wireless CarPlay, or fit an aftermarket CarPlay radio (SoundStream, Rockford Fosgate, Boss, Diamond Audio, Aquatic AV). Either way a HogPlay Media Box adds Netflix, YouTube and streaming and a Piglet adds Mirror Link and AirPlay. No headset bypass required.

We also stock universal parts that fit the 2014 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Police and most other motorcycles — standalone CarPlay screens and universal USB power.

About the 2014 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Police

The 2014 Road Glide Police runs Harley's shark-nose fairing on the touring platform, built to log long patrol miles with a stock Boom! Box 4.3 head unit. The 4.3 was a fine base radio in its day, but it predates Apple CarPlay and Android Auto entirely, so turn-by-turn navigation and voice-dictated texts never made it into the factory system.

Most 2014 Road Glide Police owners solve this one of two ways. The straightforward route is dropping in an aftermarket CarPlay radio from a brand like SoundStream or Rockford Fosgate, most of which include both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto out of the box, with no headset bypass needed on this path. The other route is swapping the Boom! Box 4.3 for a later 2019-2023 GTS head unit and adding a HogPlay CarPlay bypass adaptor, which unlocks the GTS factory CarPlay and USB port.

Whichever radio ends up on the bars, a HogPlay Media Box layers in Android Auto plus Netflix, YouTube, YouTube Music and podcast streaming from an SD card or USB drive - no phone data burned. Riders who want AirPlay-style mirroring instead can add a HogPlay USB Piglet, and a bar-mounted HogPlay Media Screen is worth a look on bikes running without a factory display.

HogPlay Media Boxes work on Diamond Audio, Boss Audio, Rockford Fosgate, SoundStream and Aquatic AV aftermarket radios to unlock apps, streaming and more — it's not just for factory screens. Running an aftermarket head unit? See the matching aftermarket radio pages.
