The 2006 Electra Glide Classic introduced Harman/Kardon Advanced Audio, a real step up in sound for the batwing fairing. Even so, that system has no Apple CarPlay and no Android Auto built in. The 2006 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Classic shipped with the factory Harman/Kardon Advanced Audio — a solid unit in its day, but no Apple CarPlay, Android Auto or touchscreen. The 2006 Electra Glide Classic was the first year of Harman/Kardon Advanced Audio on this model, a noticeable jump in sound quality over the older base radio.
Good speakers don't add Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, though, so riders chasing both typically replace the factory head unit with an aftermarket CarPlay radio from a brand like Aquatic AV or Rockford Fosgate, many of which include wireless CarPlay and Android Auto from the factory. A HogPlay Media Box added to that radio also streams Netflix, YouTube, YouTube Music, and podcasts from an SD card or USB drive.
