From 2006 to 2013, Harley-Davidson touring models ran the Harman/Kardon Advanced Audio system — a real step up in factory sound quality. As good as it sounded, it has no touchscreen, no Apple CarPlay and no Android Auto, so your phone's maps and apps can't run on it.
The path to wireless CarPlay and Android Auto is an aftermarket CarPlay radio — SoundStream, Rockford Fosgate, Boss, Diamond Audio or Aquatic AV. Add a HogPlay Media Box for Netflix, YouTube and streaming apps, and a HogPlay Piglet for Mirror Link and AirPlay. No headset bypass required on the aftermarket path. A bar-mounted HogPlay Media Screen is an alternative if you'd rather not swap the radio.
