The 2005 Ultra Classic Shrine is the final year of this generation's base factory radio before Harley moved to the Harman/Kardon system the following year. It is a solid AM/FM unit for the fairing, but like every year before it, there is no CarPlay and no Android Auto built in. HogPlay riders skip waiting on the stock radio and add wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with an aftermarket fairing radio instead.

The 2005 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic Shrine shipped with the factory factory touring radio (1999–2005) — a solid unit in its day, but no Apple CarPlay, Android Auto or touchscreen. As the last model year before Harley-Davidson's Harman/Kardon audio upgrade, the 2005 Ultra Classic Shrine still runs the familiar factory AM/FM radio in the fairing. It is a well-proven stock setup, but it carries no CarPlay or Android Auto capability of any kind.
