The 2014 Road Glide arrived as part of Harley's Project Rushmore overhaul, with a frame-mounted fairing and a redesigned cockpit built around the Boom! Box 4.3 head unit. That radio handled AM/FM, weatherband and Bluetooth phone calls well for a bike of its era, but Apple CarPlay and Android Auto didn't exist on any Harley radio yet. HogPlay adds both wirelessly, either through an aftermarket CarPlay radio or by swapping in a later GTS unit with a HogPlay bypass adaptor.

No Factory CarPlay — GTS Swap or Aftermarket

The 2014 Harley-Davidson Road Glide ran the factory Boom! Box 4.3 — no factory CarPlay or Android Auto. Two ways to add it: swap to a 2019–2023 Boom! Box GTS and add a HogPlay GTS Bypass for wireless CarPlay, or fit an aftermarket CarPlay radio (SoundStream, Rockford Fosgate, Boss, Diamond Audio, Aquatic AV). Either way a HogPlay Media Box adds Netflix, YouTube and streaming and a Piglet adds Mirror Link and AirPlay. No headset bypass required.

We also stock universal parts that fit the 2014 Harley-Davidson Road Glide and most other motorcycles — standalone CarPlay screens and universal USB power.

About the 2014 Harley-Davidson Road Glide

The 2014 Road Glide's frame-mounted fairing and Boom! Box 4.3 radio were a big step forward for Harley's touring lineup, but the electronics stopped at Bluetooth calling and basic audio - no Apple CarPlay, no Android Auto. For riders who lean on their phone for turn-by-turn navigation, playlists and messages, that gap shows up fast on longer rides.

The most direct fix is an aftermarket CarPlay radio built for the Road Glide's fairing opening - brands like SoundStream, Rockford Fosgate, Boss, Diamond Audio and Aquatic AV all build units that add wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in one box, no headset bypass needed. Riders who'd rather keep the stock Harley face can instead swap to a 2019-2023 GTS radio and unlock its built-in CarPlay and USB port with a HogPlay CarPlay bypass adaptor - just remember the bypass alone doesn't add Android Auto.

Either path pairs well with a HogPlay Media Box for Android Auto plus Netflix, YouTube, YouTube Music and podcast streaming off an SD card or USB drive, no phone data required. A USB Piglet adds Android Auto with Mirror Link or AirPlay screen mirroring instead, and a bar-mounted Media Screen is worth a look for bikes that don't already have a head unit - though most 2014 Road Glide riders upgrading the radio itself get more use out of the fairing display they already have.

HogPlay Media Boxes work on Diamond Audio, Boss Audio, Rockford Fosgate, SoundStream and Aquatic AV aftermarket radios to unlock apps, streaming and more — it's not just for factory screens. Running an aftermarket head unit? See the matching aftermarket radio pages.
