The 2014 Electra Glide launched the Project Rushmore era with sharper ergonomics, better wind management, and the first Boom! Box infotainment lineup - a real step forward for its day, but built years before Apple CarPlay or Android Auto existed. The base Boom! Box 4.3 in this model handles AM/FM and Bluetooth audio fine, but it has no path to phone-mirrored navigation or voice assistants. HogPlay closes that gap, adding wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to this bike without ripping out the fairing.

No Factory CarPlay — GTS Swap or Aftermarket

The 2014 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide ran the factory Boom! Box 4.3 — no factory CarPlay or Android Auto. Two ways to add it: swap to a 2019–2023 Boom! Box GTS and add a HogPlay GTS Bypass for wireless CarPlay, or fit an aftermarket CarPlay radio (SoundStream, Rockford Fosgate, Boss, Diamond Audio, Aquatic AV). Either way a HogPlay Media Box adds Netflix, YouTube and streaming and a Piglet adds Mirror Link and AirPlay. No headset bypass required.

We also stock universal parts that fit the 2014 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide and most other motorcycles — standalone CarPlay screens and universal USB power.

About the 2014 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide

The 2014 Electra Glide carries the first-generation Boom! Box 4.3, a non-touch head unit that was a genuine upgrade over the radios it replaced. It plays music and takes calls well enough, but Apple CarPlay and Android Auto simply didn't exist yet when this system was engineered, so there's no factory route to phone mirroring, no matter how new your iPhone or Android is.

Riders who want turn-by-turn navigation, voice-to-text, and their music apps on the bars have two practical paths. The first is dropping in an aftermarket CarPlay radio from a brand like SoundStream or Rockford Fosgate, most of which include both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto out of the box and fit the stock Electra Glide fairing opening. The second is swapping the whole head unit for a 2019-2023 GTS and pairing it with a HogPlay CarPlay bypass adaptor, which unlocks the GTS's built-in CarPlay and USB port.

Either way, adding a Media Box layers in Android Auto plus Netflix, YouTube, YouTube Music, and podcast streaming straight from an SD card or USB drive - no phone data required. Prefer to keep the stock radio in place? A USB Piglet adds Android Auto with AirPlay and Mirror Link screen mirroring, and a bar-mounted Media Screen is worth a look if you'd rather not touch the factory unit at all. No headset bypass is needed for the aftermarket-radio path.

HogPlay Media Boxes work on Diamond Audio, Boss Audio, Rockford Fosgate, SoundStream and Aquatic AV aftermarket radios to unlock apps, streaming and more — it's not just for factory screens. Running an aftermarket head unit? See the matching aftermarket radio pages.
