The 2017 Ultra Limited is a big-mile machine - shaft-smooth power, full weather protection, and stereo sound built for two-up touring. Its factory Boom! Box 6.5 GT touchscreen was capable for its time but shipped with no Apple CarPlay and no Android Auto. HogPlay's radios and adaptors bring both to this bike wirelessly.
No Factory CarPlay — GTS Swap or Aftermarket
The 2017 Harley-Davidson Ultra Limited Shrine ran the factory Boom! Box 6.5 GT — no factory CarPlay or Android Auto. Two ways to add it: swap to a 2019–2023 Boom! Box GTS and add a HogPlay GTS Bypass for wireless CarPlay, or fit an aftermarket CarPlay radio (SoundStream, Rockford Fosgate, Boss, Diamond Audio, Aquatic AV). Either way a HogPlay Media Box adds Netflix, YouTube and streaming and a Piglet adds Mirror Link and AirPlay. No headset bypass required.
We also stock universal parts that fit the 2017 Harley-Davidson Ultra Limited Shrine and most other motorcycles — standalone CarPlay screens and universal USB power.

Two-up touring on a 2017 Ultra Limited covers serious ground, and riders covering that ground want their phone's maps, music and calls close at hand rather than out of reach. The Boom! Box 6.5 GT never supported that natively, so the upgrade has to come from outside Harley's own catalog.
Swapping in an aftermarket CarPlay radio from SoundStream, Rockford Fosgate, Boss, Diamond Audio or Aquatic AV is the quickest fix, and most of these radios include Android Auto right alongside Apple CarPlay - with no headset bypass to worry about, since that step only ever applies to the factory unit. For riders who want to stay closer to stock, swapping up to a 2019-2023 GTS radio and adding a HogPlay CarPlay bypass adaptor unlocks the GTS's own factory CarPlay and USB port instead.
Layer on a HogPlay Media Box for Android Auto plus Netflix, YouTube, YouTube Music and podcast streaming from an SD card or USB drive with no phone data used, or go lighter with a USB Piglet for Android Auto plus AirPlay and Mirror Link mirroring. A bar-mounted Media Screen is also worth considering for bikes that want a dedicated display.
HogPlay Media Boxes work on Diamond Audio, Boss Audio, Rockford Fosgate, SoundStream and Aquatic AV aftermarket radios to unlock apps, streaming and more — it's not just for factory screens. Running an aftermarket head unit? See the matching aftermarket radio pages.
