By 2015 the Ultra Classic Twin-Cooled had settled into its role as Harley's flagship long-distance tourer, still running the Boom! Box 6.5 GT touchscreen with GPS and Bluetooth audio built in. That factory radio was a strong performer for the era, but it stopped short of Apple CarPlay or Android Auto - Harley simply never wrote either into the 6.5 GT's software. No Factory CarPlay — GTS Swap or Aftermarket
The 2015 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic Twin-Cooled ran the factory Boom! Box 6.5 GT — no factory CarPlay or Android Auto. Two ways to add it: swap to a 2019–2023 Boom! Box GTS and add a HogPlay GTS Bypass for wireless CarPlay, or fit an aftermarket CarPlay radio (SoundStream, Rockford Fosgate, Boss, Diamond Audio, Aquatic AV). Box 6.5 GT as its 2014 sibling - a touchscreen deck that handled GPS, Bluetooth calling, and satellite radio well for the time, but never gained Apple CarPlay or Android Auto through any Harley update. Riders leaning on phone-based navigation or voice assistants are stuck outside that ecosystem until the radio itself changes.
Two upgrade paths get this Ultra Classic there. Aftermarket motorcycle head units from SoundStream, Rockford Fosgate, Boss, Diamond Audio, or Aquatic AV commonly bring both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto onboard in one install. Alternatively, riders can retrofit a 2019-2023 GTS radio and pair it with a HogPlay CarPlay bypass adaptor to unlock the GTS's factory CarPlay and USB port without hunting for a separate wiring solution.
Add a HogPlay Media Box to either setup for Android Auto plus Netflix, YouTube, YouTube Music, and podcast streaming straight from an SD card or USB stick - no cellular data required. A USB Piglet is the pick for riders who want Android Auto with Mirror Link or AirPlay screen mirroring instead, and a bar-mounted Media Screen is worth a look for bikes without an existing display. Since this is an aftermarket-radio install, no headset bypass is needed.
