The 2014 Road Glide Ultra / Limited launched the Project Rushmore redesign with a new frame-mounted fairing and the then-new Boom! Box 6.5 GT touchscreen — impressive for its time, but built years before Apple CarPlay or Android Auto existed. HogPlay adds both wirelessly, either through an aftermarket CarPlay radio or by swapping in a 2019-2023 GTS unit with a HogPlay bypass adaptor.

No Factory CarPlay — GTS Swap or Aftermarket

The 2014 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Ultra / Limited ran the factory Boom! Box 6.5 GT — no factory CarPlay or Android Auto. Two ways to add it: swap to a 2019–2023 Boom! Box GTS and add a HogPlay GTS Bypass for wireless CarPlay, or fit an aftermarket CarPlay radio (SoundStream, Rockford Fosgate, Boss, Diamond Audio, Aquatic AV). Either way a HogPlay Media Box adds Netflix, YouTube and streaming and a Piglet adds Mirror Link and AirPlay. No headset bypass required.

We also stock universal parts that fit the 2014 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Ultra / Limited and most other motorcycles — standalone CarPlay screens and universal USB power.

About the 2014 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Ultra / Limited

The 2014 Road Glide Ultra / Limited kicked off the Project Rushmore era with a frame-mounted fairing and the brand-new Boom! Box 6.5 GT touchscreen — a genuine step up in its day, but one built years before Apple CarPlay or Android Auto existed. For riders who now want turn-by-turn navigation, music, and calls running through that fairing-mounted screen, the factory unit simply can't do it on its own.

The most direct fix is swapping in an aftermarket CarPlay radio from a brand like SoundStream or Rockford Fosgate — most of these units include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto right out of the box, no phone cable required. Riders who'd rather add capability without replacing the whole dash sometimes look at a bar-mounted Media Screen, though once a bike already has a head unit, most owners find it simpler to upgrade the radio itself.

Prefer to keep more of the factory look? Swap the 6.5 GT for a 2019-2023 GTS unit and add a HogPlay CarPlay bypass adaptor to unlock the GTS's own factory CarPlay and USB port (Android Auto still needs to come from elsewhere on that path). On the new radio, a HogPlay Media Box layers in Android Auto plus Netflix, YouTube, YouTube Music, and podcast streaming from an SD card or USB drive — no phone data burned — while a HogPlay USB Piglet adds Android Auto along with Mirror Link and AirPlay screen mirroring. Either way, the aftermarket-radio route needs no headset bypass to run.

HogPlay Media Boxes work on Diamond Audio, Boss Audio, Rockford Fosgate, SoundStream and Aquatic AV aftermarket radios to unlock apps, streaming and more — it's not just for factory screens. Running an aftermarket head unit? See the matching aftermarket radio pages.
