The 2014 Road Glide Ultra paired that shark-nose fairing with Harley's full touring kit - Tour-Pak, saddlebags, and enough wind protection for all-day interstate miles. The factory Boom! Box 6.5 GT touchscreen was a genuine step up when it launched, but it has no Apple CarPlay and no Android Auto - Harley simply hadn't built that in yet. No Factory CarPlay — GTS Swap or Aftermarket
The 2014 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Ultra ran the factory Boom! Box 6.5 GT — no factory CarPlay or Android Auto. Two ways to add it: swap to a 2019–2023 Boom! Box 6.5 GT handled the basics well for 2014, but phone mirroring simply wasn't part of the package - no CarPlay, no Android Auto, and no way to add either through a firmware update.
Most owners solve this by swapping in an aftermarket CarPlay radio from a brand like SoundStream or Rockford Fosgate, which typically brings both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto onboard in one unit and drops into the factory dash opening. Riders who'd rather keep the stock look instead move up to a 2019-2023 GTS head unit and add a HogPlay CarPlay bypass adaptor, which unlocks the GTS's built-in CarPlay and USB port.
Either route, a HogPlay Media Box adds Android Auto along with Netflix, YouTube, YouTube Music, and podcast streaming, plus playback straight from an SD card or USB drive with no phone data used. Prefer to keep your phone doing the mirroring? A USB Piglet adds Android Auto and AirPlay/Mirror Link screen mirroring, and a bar-mounted Media Screen is available if you'd rather run a second display than replace the head unit. No headset bypass is needed for any aftermarket-radio install.
