About 2020 Indian
The 2020 Challenger, Chieftain, and Roadmaster all run Indian’s Ride Command touchscreen, which supports wired Apple CarPlay out of the box but has never offered Android Auto in any model year — a hard limit set at the software level, not something a firmware update fixes. Meanwhile the Chief, Scout, and FTR lines skip infotainment screens altogether, closer in spirit to Harley’s Softail cruisers than to Indian’s own touring bikes.
Android riders on a Ride Command bike need a bypass adaptor to get Android Auto working on that factory screen, and our Ride Command radio guide explains exactly what is locked and what is not. Chief, Scout, and FTR owners skip the bypass conversation entirely and go straight to a HogPlay Media Screen for a self-contained CarPlay and Android Auto display.
