2012's Street Glide kept the batwing fairing look Harley had built the model's identity around, along with the same factory AM/FM head unit the platform had used for several years running. It's a dependable stereo for AM/FM and CD, but the hardware behind the dash predates smartphone integration entirely — no CarPlay, no Android Auto, and no firmware fix that changes that.

Owners bring it current with a CarPlay-ready aftermarket radio built for the batwing fairing opening, or a HogPlay Media Screen mounted at the bars for wireless CarPlay and Android Auto without swapping anything factory. It's the same fix used on the related Road Glide and Electra Glide from the same model year, and both installs take under two hours in a home garage.
