About 2012 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Models
The 2012 Road Glide lineup — Road Glide, Road Glide Custom, Road Glide Ultra, and Road Glide Ultra/Limited — kept the same shark-nose fairing and factory AM/FM audio the platform had run for years. It's a capable stereo for playing music on the highway, but there's no touchscreen, no app support, and no way to run turn-by-turn navigation through the bike's own speakers without adding hardware.
Two upgrades solve it: a CarPlay-ready aftermarket radio that replaces the factory unit in the same fairing cutout, or a HogPlay Media Screen mounted at the bars for wireless CarPlay and Android Auto independent of the stock stereo. The same parts fit the loaded Road Glide Ultra/Limited and the base Road Glide alike, with no permanent modifications to the fairing itself.
