2026 Indian Sport Chief
Android Auto, CarPlay & Streaming Apps for 2026 Indian Sport Chief
| Factory code | 56K·DSDB |
|---|---|
| Engine | Thunder Stroke 116 — air-cooled V-twin |
| Factory head unit | No factory options — HogPlay Screen recommended |
| Factory USB location | None |
| Fairing Style | Quarter fairing — flat-track sport styling, no head unit behind it |
For 2026 the Sport Chief trims its color sheet to three finishes — Black Smoke, Heavy Metal Smoke and the bold Indy Red — while keeping the same flat-track-styled quarter fairing, moto bars and Thunder Stroke 116 that have defined the model since its 2023 debut. What still hasn't shown up is a factory screen: the cockpit remains a single analog gauge. HogPlay's 7-inch CarPlay and Android Auto display drops into that space, adding navigation, calls and streaming through its own built-in speakers, powered and removed without touching a single factory wire.
No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen
The 2026 Indian Sport Chief left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

The 2026 Sport Chief keeps Indian's flat-track-inspired cruiser formula intact — quarter fairing, gunfighter seat, dual piggyback shocks and the air-cooled Thunder Stroke 116 — narrowed down to Black Smoke, Heavy Metal Smoke and Indy Red for the model year. As with every Sport Chief before it, there's no factory touchscreen or Apple CarPlay behind that fairing, and no factory USB port — just an under-seat accessory outlet. A HogPlay 7-inch CarPlay and Android Auto screen, complete with built-in speakers, turns that blank cockpit into a full infotainment setup, drawing power from the under-seat outlet and lifting off clean if the bike ever needs to go back to stock.
