Ride Command is genuinely capable hardware, and for iPhone owners it mostly works as advertised: plug into the Roadmaster's or Pursuit's USB port and Apple CarPlay comes right up. Android owners are the ones left out, since Indian never built Android Auto support into the platform, which is exactly the gap a dedicated Ride Command bypass is designed to close.
The Springfield and the rest of Indian's touring line share this same wired-CarPlay-only foundation, while the Chief and Scout cruisers mostly skip factory infotainment entirely — a different starting point that usually calls for a stand-alone Media Screen instead.
