The 2020 Indian Chief relaunched the nameplate as a stripped-down roadster — cast wheels, minimal bodywork, a single round gauge, and the air-cooled Thunder Stroke 111 V-twin. There's no factory touchscreen and no wired CarPlay to unlock, so HogPlay's answer is a 7-inch CarPlay and Android Auto screen with its own built-in speakers. It bolts to the bike, runs off USB power, and comes off just as cleanly if you ever want the Chief back to stock. Launch colors ranged from Thunder Black to Willow Green/Ivory Cream and Patriot Red/Pearl White — none of them came with a screen, so the HogPlay kit is the only way to add modern navigation and audio.

No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen

The 2020 Indian Chief left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

We also stock universal parts that fit the 2020 Indian Chief and most other motorcycles — standalone CarPlay screens and universal USB power.

About the 2020 Indian Chief

Indian brought the Chief back in 2020 as the minimalist end of its cruiser lineup: low seat height, blacked-out or two-tone paint, and none of the fairing or hard bags that weigh down the Chieftain and Roadmaster. The Thunder Stroke 111 gives it the same lump of torque as its touring siblings in a much lighter package. Because the platform was built without a factory screen, riders who want Apple CarPlay and Android Auto have one real option: HogPlay's 7-inch add-on display, which handles maps, calls and streaming through its own speakers without disturbing the Chief's clean lines or requiring a dealer visit.

The HogPlay Media Screen on the 2020 Indian Chief runs a dual-Bluetooth design — pair your phone for wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto on one channel while the other feeds an auxiliary amplifier, handlebar speakers or a portable Bluetooth speaker. A small built-in speaker handles turn-by-turn voice prompts and light audio on the move, and the fully sealed, waterproof housing is built rugged to stand up to the weather and the elements the 2020 Indian Chief rides in.

Android Auto on the 2020 Indian Chief: HogPlay makes the 2020 Indian Chief run wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay — compare every Android Auto for Harley-Davidson & Indian motorcycles option, then confirm your exact fit with What Fits.
