About 2012 Harley-Davidson CVO Models

Every 2012 CVO — Electra Glide, Street Glide, Road Glide, Road Glide Ultra, Ultra Classic — carries Harley's premium Harman/Kardon fairing audio, but the electronics underneath are pre-CarPlay. No touchscreen, no mirroring, and no built-in way to run Apple Maps or Google Maps through the bike's speakers. Riders who want that today have to add it themselves rather than dig for a hidden setting that was never installed.

Two upgrade paths handle it cleanly: install a CarPlay-ready aftermarket radio in place of the factory Harman/Kardon unit, or add a HogPlay Media Screen at the handlebars for wireless CarPlay and Android Auto without touching the original stereo. The same parts and process apply whether you're working on the CVO Ultra Classic or the CVO Road Glide, and installation on either one takes an afternoon in a home garage with basic hand tools.
