The 2003 Harley-Davidson FLHT/I Electra Glide rolled out in HD's 100th Anniversary year, its fuel-injected Twin Cam 88 delivering the steady low-end torque a full-dress tourer needs when it's pulling a sidecar. Fairing-mounted windshield, hard bags, and a chair bolted to the frame for two-up-plus-passenger duty — this was long-haul touring before anyone thought to put a screen on the bars. No factory radio, no infotainment. The fix: the 7-inch bar-mounted HogPlay Media Screen, wired straight to your 2003 FLHT/I's power and ground.
No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen
The 2003 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide with Sidecar (FLHTI) left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

Fuel injection on the '03 FLHT/I meant cleaner starts and smoother running than that year's carbureted FLHT, but Harley was still a decade-plus away from putting a touchscreen on any touring model — leaving sidecar riders working long hauls with nothing but a tank-mounted speedometer and analog gauges. The HogPlay Media Screen closes that gap without touching the bike's factory setup.
It clamps to the handlebars in the rider's sightline, taps into a 12V power and ground source, and pairs wirelessly with a phone for Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The mount is fully reversible, so nothing about the FLHT/I's bars, fairing, or sidecar hitch is permanently altered.
The HogPlay Media Screen pairs over dual Bluetooth, so a 2003 FLHT/I Sidecar rider can run wireless CarPlay or Android Auto on one channel while a second feeds an auxiliary amp, handlebar speakers, or a portable Bluetooth speaker. A small built-in speaker covers turn-by-turn voice prompts and light audio on its own. Fully sealed and waterproof, it's built rugged for whatever the road — and the sidecar — throws at it.
