The 2002 Harley-Davidson Road King Police Escort was built for duty, not leisure — a fuel-injected Twin Cam 88 big twin bolted into the stripped-down, windshield-forward Road King chassis that police departments ran for years of hard idle time and constant stop-and-go throttle work. Squad-spec bikes skipped the touring extras civilians got, audio included. No factory radio ever came on this one — the HogPlay Media Screen fixes that, adding real infotainment to a 2002 Road King that never had any.
No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen
The 2002 Harley-Davidson Road King Police Escort left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

Police-spec Road Kings traded chrome and comfort options for duty-ready basics: a solo saddle, engine guards, and a chassis tuned to survive years of patrol work behind that Twin Cam 88. What it never got was sound — squad configurations skipped the fairing speakers and tape deck entirely, leaving a bare cockpit with nothing to plug into.
The HogPlay Media Screen fills that gap without touching the bike's wiring harness or dash. It clamps to the handlebars in clear view of the rider, runs off a simple power-and-ground tap into the existing electrical system, and mounts reversibly so the bike can go back to stock cosmetics anytime. Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto go live the moment a phone connects.
