The 2001 Harley-Davidson Wide Glide is Dyna at its rawest — that stretched-out 32-degree fork rake, skinny front end, and drag-bar attitude that made the Wide Glide a factory chopper before "factory chopper" was a category. Under the tank sits the Twin Cam 88, still fresh into its run and pumping out the torque that made these Dynas a favorite for stripped-down cruising. What the 2001 Wide Glide never had is a stereo of any kind. The 2001 Harley-Davidson Wide Glide left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. The 7-inch unit clamps to the handlebars in a spot that keeps the Wide Glide's stripped-down profile intact, runs off a simple tap into power and ground, and mounts reversibly so nothing about the bike's original hardware gets modified or drilled. Once it's wired in, the 2001 Wide Glide has full wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto — turn-by-turn navigation, calls, and music — on a bike that was built forty years ago without any of it in mind.
