2001 Ultra Classic CarPlay: Same Deck, Six Configurations

Same six-name roster as the year before: Ultra Classic, Ultra Limited, Ultra Classic Shrine, and three sidecar builds. The 2001 Ultra line kept its Harman/Kardon-tuned speakers, kept its premium fairing acoustics, and kept its total absence of anything resembling CarPlay or Android Auto.

About 2001 Harley-Davidson Ultra Models

Buying into the Ultra name in 2001 meant the best factory sound Harley put on a motorcycle that year — Harman/Kardon speakers, a stronger amp, better fairing acoustics — layered over the exact same legacy AM/FM tuner found on the base Electra Glide. The Ultra Sidecar and Ultra Classic Electra Glide with Sidecar (FLHTCUI) ran that identical setup; better speakers were never going to add Bluetooth on their own.

Because the fairing and dash opening match across the Ultra range, one aftermarket CarPlay radio spec fits Ultra Classic, Ultra Limited, and both sidecar builds alike, putting real wireless CarPlay behind that Harman/Kardon amp. A Media Screen on the bars is the non-invasive alternative for anyone keeping the factory face original, on the Ultra Classic or the export-only Ultra Classic With Sidecar (Japan) alike.
