The 2001 Harley-Davidson FLHTCU/I Electra Glide Ultra Classic Sidecar is the factory's hack-ready full dresser, built on a reinforced frame and a stouter front end to handle the extra load and geometry of towing a sidecar, all powered by the fuel-injected Twin Cam 88 big twin that had just taken over touring duty from the old Evolution. It hauls two-up (or three-wheel) for the long haul, but the dash never got a factory screen or smartphone hookup. No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen
The 2001 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic Electra Glide with Sidecar (FLHTCUI) left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. Harley built the Ultra Classic Electra Glide with Sidecar package around the standard Electra Glide Ultra Classic's full fairing, lockable saddlebags, and Tour-Pak, then reinforced the frame, upgraded the front end, and revised the steering geometry so the bike could safely pull a sidecar rig instead of just carrying a passenger behind. The Twin Cam 88 delivers smooth, torquey power that suits the extra weight, but there's nowhere factory to plug in a phone or run navigation.
The HogPlay Media Screen fixes that without touching the stock wiring harness. It mounts to the handlebars right in the rider's line of sight, taps into a switched power source and ground, and streams wireless CarPlay or Android Auto straight from your phone. The mounting bracket is reversible, so it fits stock bars or swapped ones, and it comes off clean if you ever want the cockpit back to stock.
Every HogPlay Media Screen runs dual Bluetooth, so on this 2001 FLHTCU/I Sidecar you can pair your phone for wireless CarPlay or Android Auto on one channel while a second channel simultaneously feeds an auxiliary amp, handlebar speakers, or a portable Bluetooth speaker.
