The 2001 Harley-Davidson Super Glide Sport (FXDX) was Milwaukee's factory hot-rod Dyna — dual front disc brakes, adjustable inverted forks, and a blacked-out, rubber-mounted Twin Cam 88 tuned for corner speed as much as boulevard cruising. It's the sport-leaning Dyna of the era, built for riders who wanted more lean angle and less chrome than a Low Rider or Wide Glide. What it never got was a factory radio or screen. Add the HogPlay Media Screen and this 2001 Super Glide Sport picks up wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto instantly.
No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen
The 2001 Harley-Davidson Super Glide Sport left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

Harley only built the Super Glide Sport for a handful of years, pitching it above the standard Dyna lineup with sharper suspension travel, twin-disc stopping power, and a stripped-down, performance-first stance that set it apart from the rest of the 2001 Dyna family. Narrow bars, a low seat, and that punchy Twin Cam 88 made the FXDX one of the most flickable Dynas Harley ever sold — a bike built to be ridden hard, not just shown off.
The HogPlay Media Screen mounts right to those bars in the rider's line of sight, wires to a switched power source and ground, and installs without cutting into the Dyna's factory harness. It's fully reversible, so the swap leaves nothing permanent behind if the bike ever changes hands.
Every HogPlay Media Screen built for a 2001 Super Glide Sport runs dual Bluetooth: one channel pairs the rider's phone for wireless CarPlay or Android Auto, the other feeds a handlebar speaker set, a portable Bluetooth speaker, or an auxiliary amp. A small built-in speaker handles turn-by-turn voice prompts and light audio on its own, no external speaker required. The housing is fully sealed and waterproof, rugged enough to ride through rain, road grime, and highway vibration without complaint.
