The 2001 Harley-Davidson Softail Deuce was the factory custom that redefined what a stock Harley could look like — a raked-out front end, chopped rear fender, and teardrop tank riding on the counter-balanced Twin Cam 88B, all wrapped in styling lifted straight from the custom bike show circuit. Like every Softail of its era, the Deuce rolled off the line with zero factory radio or infotainment. The fix is the 7-inch HogPlay Media Screen, a bar-mounted display that adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to a bike that never had a dash built for one.

No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen

The 2001 Harley-Davidson Deuce left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

We also stock universal parts that fit the 2001 Harley-Davidson Deuce and most other motorcycles — standalone CarPlay screens and universal USB power.

About the 2001 Harley-Davidson Deuce

The Deuce's low-slung stance and long, raked fork made it Harley's answer to the custom builders dominating late-'90s bike culture, and the Twin Cam 88B's counter-balancing kept that rigid-look Softail frame smooth at speed instead of shaking the rider's hands numb. There's nowhere on that stripped-down cockpit to hide a stereo, which is exactly why the HogPlay Media Screen mounts to the handlebars instead of the dash.

It clamps to the bars, runs power and ground straight to the battery, and pairs wirelessly with your phone — no cutting into the tank console or fabricating a bracket to make it fit. The mount is reversible too, so nothing about the Deuce's factory custom look is permanently altered.

Add the HogPlay Media Screen to your 2001 Softail Deuce and get two Bluetooth channels working at once — one paired to your phone for CarPlay or Android Auto, the other feeding an amp, bar-mounted speakers, or a portable Bluetooth speaker. A compact built-in speaker handles turn-by-turn directions and light audio on its own. The whole unit is fully sealed and waterproof, built to shrug off rain and road grime mile after mile.
