1999 was year one for the Harley-Davidson Night Train, the stripped-down, blacked-out Softail that rewrote what a factory cruiser could look like — drag-style bars, a solo seat, and powdercoated engine covers replacing the usual chrome. Under that lean bodywork sits the final-generation carbureted Evolution 1340 V-twin, the last model year before Twin Cam power reached the Softail line.
