The 1999 Harley-Davidson MT500 is unlike anything else ever stamped with the Bar & Shield — a stripped-down military dual-sport built for British and NATO evaluation, powered by a rugged 500cc Rotax single-cylinder engine with kickstart-only ignition and none of the chrome or comfort of a typical Harley. Fewer than 500 were ever built, making it one of the rarest machines the factory has produced. Descended from the British military's Armstrong MT500 program, the 1999 MT500 was engineered to survive mud, dust, and abuse without complaint — its 500cc SOHC Rotax single, five-speed gearbox, and 355-pound dry weight make it the lightest, most unconventional machine ever to wear the Harley-Davidson name. There's no fairing, no dash electronics, nothing beyond a headlight and a kickstart lever.
Adding the HogPlay Media Screen works with that simplicity instead of against it. The 7-inch screen clamps to the handlebars, taps into a 12V power and ground source for juice, and pairs wirelessly with your phone for Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The mount reverses for left- or right-side placement, so it tucks in wherever the MT500's stripped-down cockpit has room.
Built into the HogPlay Media Screen is dual Bluetooth, so your 1999 MT500 can pair a phone for wireless CarPlay or Android Auto on one channel while feeding a second to an auxiliary amp, handlebar speakers, or a portable Bluetooth speaker.
