Road Glide's debut in 1998 was mostly about the frame-mounted fairing design, a departure from the fork-mounted fairings on Electra Glide and Ultra. The stereo underneath didn't get the same fresh treatment — it's the identical AM/FM cassette head unit Harley had been installing across its touring lineup for years, completely unchanged from prior model years, trims, and speaker configurations.

That shared dash opening means the same aftermarket CarPlay radio used on Electra Glide and Ultra fits the new Road Glide too, adding wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in place of the factory cassette deck without any custom fabrication.
