About 1998 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Models

By 1998, the Electra Glide lineup — base, Classic, Classic Shrine, Standard, plus FLHT and FLHTC sidecar variants — had gone three-plus years without an audio upgrade from the factory. Every trim used the same AM/FM cassette deck mounted in the stock fairing, with no CD changer, no auxiliary jack, and obviously no wireless connectivity of any kind built in.

Because every 1998 Electra Glide shares that same fairing cutout, one aftermarket CarPlay radio fits the whole family — base, Standard, or FLHT sidecar alike — and adds real wireless Apple CarPlay plus Android Auto in place of the tape deck.
