CVO doubled in 1998, adding the CVO Electra Glide alongside the returning CVO Road Glide — two factory-custom tourers, both still running the exact same basic AM/FM cassette deck as their standard-trim counterparts, extra badges, custom paint, premium seats, and added chrome trim all aside from the mechanicals.

About 1998 Harley-Davidson CVO Models

1998 grew Harley's CVO program to two models for the first time: the new CVO Electra Glide joined the CVO Road Glide, each built on the standard touring platform with upgraded paint, trim, and badging. Underneath that extra polish, both bikes carried the exact same factory AM/FM cassette head unit as any base-model Electra Glide or Road Glide that year.

One aftermarket CarPlay radio fits either CVO model, dropping into the shared fairing opening to add wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto without disturbing the custom paint job. The swap is identical to what's used on the standard Electra Glide and Road Glide families that same year, right down to the connector, mounting bracket, and existing speaker wiring harness already in the fairing.
