By 1997 the Super Glide Convertible had built a following as the quick-change Dyna — windshield and bags on for touring, off for a stripped-down look, all riding on the same Evolution 1340 with no factory electronics.
The HogPlay Media Screen brings a 7-inch handlebar-mounted display tied into the bike's power and ground, giving the 1997 Super Glide Convertible wireless CarPlay and Android Auto.
No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen
The 1997 Harley-Davidson Super Glide Convertible left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. The Super Glide Convertible's handlebar accepts the HogPlay 7-inch Media Screen the same way as the standard Super Glide — a clean bar-clamp mount clear of the windshield and gauges.
Wiring taps power and ground behind the headlight, and the reversible mount keeps the quick-change nature of the bike intact.
On the 1997 Super Glide Convertible, the HogPlay Media Screen adds what the factory setup never included. Dual Bluetooth connects to your phone for wireless CarPlay or Android Auto and separately to an aux amp, handlebar speakers, or a portable speaker. A built-in speaker delivers prompts solo if needed. It's fully sealed, waterproof, and rugged enough for whichever configuration you're riding that day.
