The 1996 Dyna Super Glide Convertible added a windshield and detachable saddlebags to the standard Super Glide formula, all on the same Evolution 1340 platform with the same factory-blank cockpit. No screen, no stereo, ever.
The HogPlay Media Screen adds a 7-inch bar-mounted touchscreen wired to power and ground, bringing wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to the 1996 Super Glide Convertible.
No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen
The 1996 Harley-Davidson Super Glide Convertible left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. The Super Glide Convertible's handlebar accepts the HogPlay 7-inch Media Screen the same way as the standard Super Glide — a clean bar-clamp mount clear of the windshield and gauges.
Wiring taps power and ground behind the headlight, and the reversible mount keeps the quick-change nature of the bike intact.
The 1996 Super Glide Convertible gets real navigation from the HogPlay Media Screen, mounted to the bar alongside the windshield. Dual Bluetooth pairs your phone for wireless CarPlay or Android Auto on one channel and an aux amp, handlebar speakers, or a portable Bluetooth speaker on the other. A small built-in speaker covers turn-by-turn prompts by itself. The housing is fully sealed, waterproof, and rugged, ready for touring miles or stripped-down rides alike.
