2025 Harley-Davidson Road King Special — HogPlay 7-inch CarPlay & Android Auto screen fitment
Factory codeFLHRXS
EngineMilwaukee-Eight 114 · 1,868cc/114ci
Factory head unitNo factory options — HogPlay Screen recommended
Factory USB locationNone
Fairing Stylenone — blacked-out headlamp nacelle + detachable windshield, no fairing

The 2025 Road King Special carries over essentially unchanged from 2024 — same Milwaukee-Eight 114, same blacked-out headlamp nacelle in place of a fairing, same quick-detach windshield. What's new this year is paint: the FLHRXS ships in three factory colorways — a light-gray tank over a blacked-out nacelle, an all-black scheme, and a red/orange scheme. None of that touches the electronics — there's still no fairing to hold a head unit, so the bike leaves the factory with no radio and no screen. HogPlay closes that gap with a self-contained 7-inch CarPlay screen: built-in speakers, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, mounted right at the bars. Plug-and-play, nothing to splice, fully reversible.

No Factory Radio — Add Your Own Screen

The 2025 Harley-Davidson Road King Special left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. A standalone HogPlay Media Screen is a 7-inch head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, live Maps & Waze navigation, calls and streaming built in — we recommend the Screen 7 Pro with its onboard DVR drive-cam. Most riders settle for Bluetooth-only kits that leave the phone in your pocket with no turn-by-turn directions; this puts it all on the bars instead. It mounts to the handlebars with basic power and ground and comes off just as easily, so reach out to the HogPlay team if you'd like a hand. (Media Box support on Screens is in development.)

We also stock universal parts that fit the 2025 Harley-Davidson Road King Special and most other motorcycles — standalone CarPlay screens and universal USB power.

About the 2025 Harley-Davidson Road King Special

Underneath the new-for-2025 paint, the Road King Special (FLHRXS) is the same stripped touring cruiser it's always been — a blacked-out headlamp nacelle instead of a batwing or shark-nose fairing, a detachable windshield, and the 1,868cc Milwaukee-Eight 114 doing the work. Because there's no fairing shell, there's no mounting point for a Boom! Box or any other factory head unit — this bike has never had a radio or a screen to unlock.

That's exactly why HogPlay treats it differently than the fully-faired tourers: instead of a bypass kit, the Road King Special gets an add-on 7-inch screen with its own built-in speakers. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and your streaming apps all run wireless through that screen, regardless of which of the three 2025 colorways you're riding — gray, gloss black, or red/orange. No cutting, no dealer visit, fully reversible.

The HogPlay Media Screen on the 2025 Harley-Davidson Road King Special runs a dual-Bluetooth design — pair your phone for wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto on one channel while the other feeds an auxiliary amplifier, handlebar speakers or a portable Bluetooth speaker. A small built-in speaker handles turn-by-turn voice prompts and light audio on the move, and the fully sealed, waterproof housing is built rugged to stand up to the weather and the elements the 2025 Harley-Davidson Road King Special rides in.

Android Auto on the 2025 Harley-Davidson Road King Special: HogPlay makes the 2025 Harley-Davidson Road King Special run wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay — compare every Android Auto for Harley-Davidson & Indian motorcycles option, then confirm your exact fit with What Fits.
