Just a blacked-out headlamp nacelle and a detachable windshield, which means no fairing to house a head unit, so the FLHRXS leaves the factory with no radio and no screen at all. The 2024 Road King Special left the factory with no radio, stereo or touchscreen to bypass — so instead of a workaround, you add your own. The Road King Special (FLHRXS) is the stripped, blacked-out cruiser of the touring family — a headlamp nacelle and a quick-detach windshield in place of any fairing, riding on the Milwaukee-Eight 114 (1,868cc). Because there's no fairing shell, there's nowhere for Harley's fairing-mounted Boom! Box to live. This bike ships with no factory radio, no factory touchscreen, and nothing to bypass.
That's why HogPlay fits it with the add-on 7-inch screen rather than a bypass kit. The screen is fully self-contained: Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and streaming apps run through its own built-in speakers, so a bike that never had a head unit gets wireless phone integration at the handlebars without cutting into the wiring.
